Born and rasied in Gothenburg, Sweden and initially listening to hip hop
as a kid, Social's ears soon caught onto UK Hardcore, House and Techno
as it emerged from England into Sweden during the early 1990's. The
developing landscape sounds of electronic music drew Social to Jungle/Drum&Bass
in 1994.
It was only until 1997 when Social started to DJ as the passion for the
music urged him to take the step into DJ'ing. Like many dance music
enthusiasts before him he was quick to master the skills of mixing.
Social emerged as a DJ on the Swedish drum&bass scene in 2002 with his
tight selection and mixing skills and in 2003 he teamed up with the
Struktur collective
(club promoter) in Gothenburg.
Around the same time in 2003 Social took the step into music production.
Production wise Social is more driven to 'slower beats' then Drum&Bass,
downtempo, breaks, electronica, etc. In 2007 Social started his own label
Verbalsound focusing on these styles from himself and other artists in
Gothenburg and Sweden.
Today Social is mainly focused on production and running the label. He
has also taken up DJ'ing breaks/house on small basis as it comes
naturally with the sound of the label and the music he prodcues.
